Robot Cells in Production Line

This project was a robotized cell integrated in an automatic production line. The distinctive feature of this project was to integrate this machine with a pre-existing line. This cell has been equipped with security glass mounted on an aluminum structure. The thickness of the glass has been calculated and verified through intense testing to guarantee it would resist any impact from the robot.

During production, the robot is coupled with a digital vision allowing it to reposition the hand at the right angle to place the primary parts in the right position. A press fitting operation is performed to interlock steel axis into rectified discs with an electrical press controlling path lengths and effort.

Different POKA-YOKE (anti-error systems) have been installed on the equipment, which were defined during studies using FMECA method.
